entry trigger
The exact small signal that tells you to start a trade once the bigger picture is already right.
The fuller meaning
The specific event that opens a trade once the setup is in place, often on a lower timeframe: for example a daily uptrend pulls back to support, and a 1-hour close above a small swing high triggers the entry. A strategy defines setup and trigger separately so both can be tested.
