higher timeframe
A zoomed-out chart, like daily instead of hourly, used to see the big direction first.
The fuller meaning
The longer timeframe in multi-timeframe analysis, such as the daily chart, used to set direction and key levels, while a lower timeframe times the entry. When timeframes conflict, clear rules let the higher timeframe decide direction, and traders stand aside at major levels.
