take-profit
A plan, or an order, to close a winning trade automatically once price reaches your goal.
The fuller meaning
An order that closes a trade at a profit level set in advance, often just before the next resistance for a long trade or at a measured-move target. Deciding it before entry keeps greed from choosing; targets set too close cap gains, while targets set too far are rarely reached.
take-profit, also called take profit.
