Come back small
Come back to real money at the smallest size, keep every rule, score each trade on your rules rather than profit, and grow one small step at a time.
In one line
Your first real trade after the reset is not about money. It is a test, and the test is not whether you win.
Explained simply
When you go back to real money, make your trades as small as you can, so small that a loss feels boring. If a loss still stings, the size is too big. Keep every rule from practice: the stop, size from the one-line rule, the checklist, the daily limit and the journal. Then score each trade on your rules, not on money. Kept every rule? Pass, even if it lost. Broke one? Fail, even if it won. Only after a long run with no rule breaks, raise your size one small step.
Mistakes to avoid
- Coming back at your old size to win the loss back faster.
- Calling a winning trade a pass when it broke a rule.
- Dropping the journal or the checklist once the money is real.
- Raising your size in a big jump after a few good days.
Check yourself
How big should your first real trades be after the reset?
The smallest size you can. So small that a loss feels boring. Any profit will be tiny, and that is the point.
A real trade kept every rule but lost money. How do you score it?
Pass. The test is your rules, not your profit. A trade that kept every rule is a pass, even if it lost.
At your new size, a losing trade still stings. What does that tell you?
The size is too big for this stage. If a loss still stings, the size is too big for this stage. Go smaller until a loss feels boring.
Your first 3 real trades: 2 kept every rule and lost, 1 broke a rule and won. How many passes?
Two. The two trades that kept every rule pass, even though they lost. The winner broke a rule, so it fails.
When may you raise your size, and by how much?
After a long run with no rule breaks, by one small step. Grow slowly: one small step after a long clean run, then prove the rules again at the new size.
Goal of this lesson: Score your first real trades as pass or fail on your rules, not on profit.
