Set your trading hours

A fixed trading window and a daily cap on trades, set in advance, say no for you when willpower would not.

In one line

The chart never closes, and you were not built to watch it all day. The fix is not willpower; it is a fence.

Explained simply

Every hour you watch a chart shows new wiggles, and each one looks like a chance. Nothing about the market changed; you just saw more of it. So build a fence. Pick a window of one or two hours, the same time every day, when you are rested and not rushed. Outside it, the app stays closed. Then set a cap, the most trades you allow in a day, decided the night before. Say three. When the third trade closes, win or lose, you are done.

Why does more screen time tend to lead to more trades?

Every hour shows new wiggles that look like chances. Nothing about the market changed. You just saw more of it, and every wiggle looked like a chance.

Which is a good trading window?

One or two set hours daily, rested and not rushed. Same hours every day, when you are rested. Outside that window, the app stays closed.

Your cap is 2 trades a day. Both closed as winners, 30 minutes into your window. What now?

Stop: the cap counts wins too. The cap is a number of trades, win or lose. When the last one closes, you are done for the day.

When should you decide your daily cap?

The night before. Decided calmly the night before, the cap does not bend to the moment.

Your window has ended and a perfect chance is forming. What does the lesson say to do?

Close the app; there will be another tomorrow. This is the hardest step, and it is what makes the fence real. There will be another chance tomorrow; there always is.

Goal of this lesson: Write down a daily trading window and a trade cap, and stop when either one is reached.
