Support bounce vs Resistance rejection
They look alike, so beginners mix them up. Here is what each one means, and how often each one worked on real charts.
Support bounce
Price fell back to a level that stopped it before, and bounced again.
Support is a price level where a fall has stopped at least twice before. When price comes back to it, buyers who liked that price may step in again. A support bounce is a green candle that dips to or near the level and closes back above it. It is a clue that the floor is holding, but floors can break.
Drawing support from just one low, when a real floor has held at least twice.
Resistance rejection
Price rose back to a level that stopped it before, and turned down again.
Resistance is a price level where a rise has stopped at least twice before. When price comes back to it, sellers who liked that price may step in again. A resistance rejection is a red candle that reaches or nears the level and closes back below it. It is a clue that the ceiling is holding, but ceilings can break.
Drawing resistance from just one high, when a real ceiling has held at least twice.
