AI that makes new things, like text, pictures or code, by learning patterns from huge amounts of examples.

The fuller meaning

AI that generates text, images or code, such as large language models. US government guidance says these models produce outputs that approximate patterns in their training data, which can include confidently stated but false content, so every output used in trading needs checking.
