A computer program that trades by itself. Ads promising a bot that always wins are scams.

The fuller meaning

Software that places trades automatically by rules. Real ones only execute a tested strategy; scams advertise 'AI trading bots' with guaranteed returns. The CFTC's advisory 'AI Won't Turn Trading Bots into Money Machines' warns that AI technology can't predict the future or sudden market changes.
