lower high

A top that is lower than the last top, one of the steps that shows prices are falling.

The fuller meaning

A swing high below the previous swing high. Lower highs with lower lows define a downtrend; in an uptrend, a lower high after a break of structure is an early sign the trend has changed. Descending triangles show lower highs pressing on flat support.
