market structure
The pattern of tops and bottoms on a chart that shows whether price is climbing, falling or moving sideways.
The fuller meaning
The sequence of swing highs and lows that defines trend: higher highs and higher lows in an uptrend, lower highs and lower lows in a downtrend. Swing points are the building blocks of trends, support, resistance and most patterns; a break of structure signals a possible change.
