noise
Small, random wiggles in price that do not mean much, like static on a radio.
The fuller meaning
Random short-term price movement that carries no lasting information. Shorter timeframes show more noise; stops placed inside a market's normal noise get hit even when the idea is right, which is why ATR-based stops and higher-timeframe context help, and fast signals often turn out to be noise.
