role reversal

When an old ceiling, once broken, becomes a floor, or an old floor becomes a ceiling.

The fuller meaning

The tendency of broken support to act as resistance and broken resistance as support, also called polarity. It is common but not certain; traders watch the retest of the broken level, and a failed retest warns the break may be false.
