runaway gap
A jump in price in the middle of a strong move, a sign the move still has plenty of energy.
The fuller meaning
A gap that appears in the middle of a strong trend, also called a measuring gap, showing continued urgency. Unlike common gaps it is often not filled soon, but the type is often clear only afterwards, so traders plan for more than one outcome.
