swing point
A turning point on the chart, either a peak or a dip, where price changed direction.
The fuller meaning
A swing high or swing low, the building blocks of trends, support, resistance and most chart patterns. Labelling each confirmed swing point as higher high, lower high, higher low or lower low reads market structure; experts match swing size to their timeframe and ignore tiny wiggles.
