tick volume
A rough count of how many times the price changed, used instead of real trading amounts in currency charts.
The fuller meaning
The number of price changes in a period, shown in spot forex charts because there is no central exchange to report traded volume. It is only a rough stand-in for real volume, so volume rules built for exchange-traded markets must be applied to it with care.
