trendline

A straight line drawn along the dips of a climb, or the peaks of a fall, to show the direction and speed of the move.

The fuller meaning

A line joining two or more swing lows in an uptrend or swing highs in a downtrend; a third touch makes it more trustworthy. Experts treat it as a zone, want a close and a new swing to confirm a break, and never bend the line to fit the wicks.
