volume

How much of something was bought and sold during a candle's time. More volume means more people joined in.

The fuller meaning

The quantity traded in a period, shown as bars under the chart. A move on rising volume shows broad participation, while shrinking volume can mean interest is fading; compare each chart with its own average, and remember spot forex shows only tick volume.
