Asian session
The part of the currency-trading day when markets in Asia, such as Tokyo, are open. It is often calmer than later in the day.
The fuller meaning
The forex window when Asia-Pacific centres such as Tokyo and Sydney are active, before Europe opens. On weekdays forex passes from the Asian session to Europe to the US; activity is usually lower than during the London and New York overlap, the busiest stretch.
