BSE

One of India's two big marketplaces for shares, where people buy and sell shares of Indian companies.

The fuller meaning

One of India's two main stock exchanges, alongside NSE, with the Sensex as its benchmark index. After a 9:00 to 9:15 pre-open, shares trade until 15:30 India time, but those with F&O stop at 15:15 for a closing auction to 15:35; most share trades settle T+1 into a demat account under SEBI's rules.
