bid

The price a buyer is offering. If you want to sell right now, you usually get this price.

The fuller meaning

The highest price a buyer will pay right now, so it is what a seller receives for an immediate fill. The ask sits above it and the gap is the spread; in thin sessions such as pre-market the bid can sit well below the ask, or quotes can vanish.
