filter

A rule that sorts out the weaker chances so you only look at the better ones.

The fuller meaning

A rule that removes signals or candidates that do not meet conditions, such as waiting for confirmation, requiring trend agreement or a screener's criteria. Filters cut false signals but also skip some winners and delay entries, so they belong in the written plan and must be tested.
