What a company says it expects to earn in the coming months, which can move its share price more than past results.

The fuller meaning

A company's own forecast for coming periods. On results day the market weighs the surprise versus estimates plus any change in guidance, and guidance often moves the price more than the past quarter: a beat with guidance cut can fall, and a miss with guidance raised can rise.
