A chart made of bars whose height or length shows how big something is, like the gap between two lines.

The fuller meaning

A bar chart of a quantity. In MACD the histogram shows the gap between the MACD line and its signal line, growing when momentum builds; in a volume profile a sideways histogram shows volume traded at each price.
