MACD line

The main line of a tool that measures the gap between a fast and a slow average price line.

The fuller meaning

The 12-period EMA minus the 26-period EMA. It is positive when the fast average is above the slow one and crosses the zero line when they cross; its crosses of the signal line are MACD's main signals.
