The stretch of time one candle covers, like one hour or one day, or how many candles a tool looks back over.
The fuller meaning
The time span of one candle or bar, set by the timeframe; also the lookback length of an indicator, such as a 14-period RSI or ATR or a 200-period moving average. Longer periods smooth more and lag more; shorter periods react faster with more false signals.
