signal line
A slower helper line that a faster line crosses, used as a hint that a move is changing.
The fuller meaning
In MACD, a 9-period EMA of the MACD line; crosses of the MACD line above or below it are the most common MACD signals, and the histogram plots the gap between them. The term is also used for smoothing lines of other oscillators, such as the stochastic's %D.
