Studying price charts, like candles, directions and shapes, to judge where price might go next.

The fuller meaning

Analysis of price and volume, through trends, levels, patterns and indicators, to judge where and when price might move, usually over minutes to months. Its weak spot is that patterns are clues, not promises; fundamental analysis studies value instead, and many traders use both.
