value area
The band of prices where most of the trading happened over a chosen stretch of time.
The fuller meaning
In a volume profile, the price range holding about 70% of the traded volume, centred on the point of control. Its edges often act as support or resistance, and price leaving the value area can start a move toward the next high-volume area.
