wick
The thin lines above and below a candle's body, showing the highest and lowest prices of that time.
The fuller meaning
The thin line from the body to the high (upper wick) or low (lower wick), also called a shadow. Long wicks show rejection: price reached a level during the period but did not stay there. The tips of the wicks are the high and low, not the open and close.
