zero line
The middle line at zero on some helper charts. Crossing it can show a move changing from up to down or back.
The fuller meaning
The horizontal line at zero on an indicator or price chart. For MACD, crossing it means the fast and slow averages have crossed, a common but lagging signal that whipsaws in ranges; on a price chart it marks prices below zero, as crude oil futures briefly showed.
