bull flag

A chart shape: a fast rise, then a small calm dip, then often another rise, like a flag on a pole.

The fuller meaning

A bullish continuation pattern: a sharp rise (the flagpole) followed by a short, orderly pullback inside a small channel sloping down or sideways, usually on shrinking volume, completed by a break above the flag's upper line. Traders often project the pole's length as a rough target; many flags fail.
