exchange

A marketplace where buyers and sellers meet to trade shares or contracts under set rules.

The fuller meaning

A regulated venue that lists instruments, matches orders and publishes prices, such as NSE, BSE, the NYSE or the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Spot forex has no central exchange, and crypto trades on many separate platforms, so there is no single official price.
