F&O

India's name for trading contracts that come in fixed-size bundles instead of single shares.

The fuller meaning

India's exchange-traded futures and options segment. Contracts come in lot sizes that the exchanges set and review every six months under SEBI's rules, so one lot is far bigger than one share in the cash market; India taxes F&O trading as business income.
