lot
A fixed bundle size that some markets make you trade in, instead of any amount you like.
The fuller meaning
A standard trading quantity. Forex lots are 100,000 (standard), 10,000 (mini) or 1,000 (micro) units of the base currency; India's F&O contracts come in exchange-set lots reviewed every six months; Tokyo shares usually trade in units of 100. Check what one lot is worth before trading.
