market

A place where buyers and sellers trade something, like shares, coins or money from other countries.

The fuller meaning

The arena where an asset trades, or the asset class itself: stocks, forex, crypto, commodities. Markets differ in hours, instruments, costs, rules and risks, but the same kind of chart works for all of them; 'the market' also means the crowd of participants whose orders move price.
