When a digital coin is designed to always be worth the same as a real money, like one dollar.

The fuller meaning

A stablecoin's target value against a reference asset, usually a currency such as the US dollar. Pegs can break under stress: some stablecoins have lost their peg, so a stablecoin is not the same as cash in a bank.
