perpetual futures
A crypto trading contract with no end date, where people pay each other small regular fees to keep the price close to the real coin.
The fuller meaning
Crypto futures without an expiry date. Instead of converging at expiry, their price is kept near spot by periodic funding payments between long and short holders; they are usually leveraged, so funding costs and liquidation risk add up quickly.
perpetual futures, also called perpetual.
