round trip

Buying and then selling the same thing, which is one whole trade. You pay costs on both parts.

The fuller meaning

A complete trade: the opening and closing transactions together. Costs apply to both legs, commission, spread, fees and taxes, so round-trip cost is what a trade must overcome before it profits; frequent trading multiplies it.
