session open

The moment a market starts trading for the day, like the bell at the start of school.

The fuller meaning

The start of a trading session, also called the opening bell, such as 9:30 New York time for US stocks. The first minutes are often the busiest and most volatile as overnight news is priced in, often through a gap; session-based tools such as VWAP reset at each session open.
