A clue on the chart that hints at what price might do next. It is a hint, not a promise.

The fuller meaning

A defined chart event that suggests a trade, such as a pattern completing, a crossover or a close beyond a level. Signals are probabilistic: their meaning depends on location and trend, confirmation filters some failures, and every signal needs a planned stop.
