tick size
The smallest step a price is allowed to move in a trading contract.
The fuller meaning
The minimum price increment of a contract, set by the exchange: for example 0.10 dollar per ounce for a standard US gold future and 0.25 index point for the E-mini S&P 500. Tick size times contract size gives the tick value.
