Ai words
25 words, each explained first as you would tell a ten-year-old.
- AIComputer programs that learn from huge numbers of examples so they can write, answer questions or spot patterns, like a very fast helper.
- AI assistantA chat helper you type questions to. It answers in words, but it can make mistakes, so you check what it says.
- API keyA secret code that lets an app control your account. Never give it to anyone or paste it into a chat.
- devil's advocateSomeone who argues against your idea on purpose, to help you find its weak spots before it is too late.
- filingAn official report a company must publish, like its results, which you can trust more than a quick summary.
- follow-up questionA small extra question you type after an AI's first answer, to fix or check one part at a time.
- generative AIAI that makes new things, like text, pictures or code, by learning patterns from huge amounts of examples.
- hallucinationWhen an AI makes something up, like a number or a fact, and says it confidently as if it were true.
- indicator alertAn alarm that goes off when a helper line on your chart reaches a level you chose.
- knowledge cutoffThe last date an AI learned about. It may not know anything that happened after that.
- large language modelA kind of AI that has read huge amounts of text and writes answers by guessing the most likely next words.
- leading questionA question that already hints at the answer you want, like 'Isn't my drawing great?'
- neutral promptA question to an AI that does not hint at the answer you want, so you get a fair reply.
- one-time codeA secret number sent to your phone to prove it is really you. Never tell it to anyone or any AI.
- output formatTelling the AI exactly how to lay out its answer, like a table or a short list, so it is easy to check.
- price alertAn alarm that goes off when price reaches a level you chose, so you do not have to watch the screen all day.
- primary sourceThe original place a fact comes from, like the company's own report, not someone's summary of it.
- promptThe message or question you type to an AI to tell it what you want.
- screenerA tool that looks through lots of charts at once and shows only the ones that match your rules.
- screenshotA picture of what is on your screen, like a chart you save or send to an AI.
- second opinionAsking someone else, or an AI, to look too, while you still check the facts yourself.
- trading botA computer program that trades by itself. Ads promising a bot that always wins are scams.
- training dataAll the text an AI learned from before you used it. It does not know things that happened after that.
- verificationChecking that a fact is really true before you use it, especially facts that come from an AI.
- watchlistA short list of charts you plan to keep an eye on, so you do not have to look at everything.
