transaction tax
A small tax charged when you buy or sell, which adds to the cost of every trade.
The fuller meaning
A tax levied on trades themselves rather than on profits, such as India's Securities Transaction Tax on equity shares and equity derivatives. With commission, spread and fees it raises round-trip cost and the win rate a method needs.
