weekend gap
A jump in price between Friday's last trade and Monday's first, caused by news over the weekend.
The fuller meaning
A gap between the last price before a weekend close and the first price after the reopen, as in stocks, futures and forex. News does not stop at weekends, so stops can fill far past their level on Monday; crypto trades through the weekend, so its weekend moves happen live.
