measured move

A simple way to guess how far price might travel: measure how tall the pattern is and copy that from where price broke out.

The fuller meaning

A rough target method: project a pattern's height, or a flag's pole, from the breakout point in the direction of the break, such as the peak-to-neckline distance of a double top projected down. Targets are guides, not promises; price often stops short, so traders check them against nearby levels.
