rising wedge

A chart shape where price climbs between two rising lines that squeeze together, and then it often breaks down.

The fuller meaning

A pattern of two rising, converging lines in which each push higher is weaker, showing momentum fading. Classic books call it bearish; it can mark a top after an uptrend or a pause within a downtrend, and completes on a close below the lower line, though it can also break up.
