Your lesson path

  1. India: NSE and BSEIn India, shares trade on NSE and BSE from 9:15 until about 3:30, and SEBI is the referee.
  2. Your first chartA chart is a picture of price over time: time runs left to right, price runs bottom to top, and each candle sums up one period.
  3. Opens, closes and weekend gapsMarkets that close can jump when they reopen, so the open and the weekend are special moments on the chart.
  4. Lot sizes comparedOne unit means very different amounts in different markets, so check what one lot is worth before you trade.
  5. Futures basicsA future is a promise to buy or sell something later at a price agreed today, and gains and losses are settled every day.
  6. Options basics: calls and putsAn option is a ticket that gives the right, but not the duty, to buy or sell at a set price on or before a set date.
  7. Cheap options near expiryA cheap option near expiry is cheap because almost no time is left, so it needs a big move fast, and on a normal day it ends at zero.
  8. What one candle tells youEvery candle shows four prices: where it started, its highest, its lowest and where it finished.
  9. Bodies and wicks: the tug of warA big body means one side won; a long wick means a push that got pushed back.
  10. The hammerA hammer after a fall shows sellers pushed hard but buyers pushed the price back up.
  11. Rule one: stay in the gameLose half your money and you must double what is left just to get back to the start.
  12. The stop-loss: decide your exit firstA stop-loss is the price where your idea is wrong, and you choose it before you enter.
  13. Taking profit: plan the exitDecide where you will take profit before you enter, so greed does not decide for you.
  14. Why your stop loss gets hitStops get hit for four plain reasons: the obvious level, a stop tighter than normal noise, a size that is too big, and moving it.
  15. The one-line stop ruleStop first, size second: size = the money you accept to lose ÷ the stop distance.

Questions

What is Bank Nifty?

Bank Nifty (officially Nifty Bank) is an NSE index of the largest and most traded Indian bank stocks, such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Axis Bank.

Why does Bank Nifty move so fast?

It holds one sector, so news about banks, loans and interest rates moves all of it together. Fast moves cut both ways, which is why the course starts with risk and position size.

Can I practise Bank Nifty without money?

Yes. Trading Class uses practice money only: you read real past charts and decide, and the chart shows what happened next.
